Bay Area Collaborative Kitchen (BACK) is a collaborative of chefs paying homage to their heritages. I designed brand assets for the team, including these double-sided menus for their debut pop-up.

DESIGN PROCESS
BACK partnered with Kasama Ca Phe to host a pop-up brunch in Oakland's Shiba Ramen, drawing 150+ people to the table, eating and greeting! As a nod to a team creating pop-up gatherings and a mosaic of foods from the diaspora, I wanted to create designs that reflected both the joy and plurality in this celebration of community. I chose bright, double-sided menus that come in four celebratory colors and balanced nostalgic typography with modern.
I loved designing for a team of my peers who are lifting up the heritages and communities of the diaspora through food and gathering - spaces that we are deeply in need of!
